Our story
15 flowers street
North Queensland Potters Association is a warm and welcoming space for professional, hobby and novise potters who all share a passion for clay.

The association was established in 1972 and is managed by a volunteer committee that is electced by members every twelve months at our Annual General Meeting.
Our aim is to promote pottery throughout North Queensland and act as a catalyst for the pottery community in the region. Our studio is well equipped and provides a creative environment where members and students pottery skills are nurtured.

We love welcoming new students and members to our association!

Our President
2025-2026
Margaret Crawford
Margaret has been a visual artist for over 25 years. Since 2010 her main focus has been on pottery, exploring a wide range of techniques along the way. She is especially drawn to handbuilding and decorating functional ware, though she occasionally makes a few sculptural pieces.
She became a member of NQPA in 2013 and has been on the committee for a number of years. This is Margaret's first time serving as President and we are so proud to have her leading us this time.
"It is a privilege to be part of a club that has been going strong for over 54 years. I am fortunate to have a great team working alongside me, which makes my role much easier and enjoyable. My hope is that, together, we can continue to build a strong and thriving club.
A large portion of our funds is directed towards the ongoing repair and maintenance of the club. However, there are a couple of projects I would really like to see come to fruition in 2026 – specifically, transforming the back courtyard and the front parking area into a more usable space for our members."
